It maximizes scrap value while reducing transportation costs.

The Hydraulic briquetting process extracts harmful coolants from metal shavings, producing briquettes with moisture content typically less than 10%.

Briquettes are utilized in the recycling process for materials such as steel turnings, cast iron bearings, and copper or brass powder. Turnings, in particular, are too bulky to be efficiently processed in melting furnaces.

Before briquetting, turnings must be chopped, shredded, or broken down when they become dense, often in the form of unbroken swarf. This process requires double treatment, applying very high pressure to a small area, making it a relatively costly method. Standard briquette sizes range from 12 to 15 cm in diameter and 10 cm in length.
